SkyLine Membership Corporation

SkyLine Membership Corporation is a telecommunications company located in West Jefferson, NC. They offer phone and Internet service, and in recent years have also branched out into TV and home security.

THE PROBLEM:

As SkyLine began expanding their services, they designed a different site for each service. This raised some concerns:

  • How easy would it be to manage the content for each site?
  • How user friendly would the sites be?
  • Would there be overlap in the content management?
  • Would users have to fill out a new application every time they applied for a new service?
THE PROBLEM (cont.):

Additionally, SkyLine was celebrating their 60th anniversary and wanted to sponsor several online events for their customers to mark the occasion. When the 60th anniversary project came about, nickgreene.com was concerned about adding yet another site to manage – for both SkyLine and their customers.

To help remedy this problem, nickgreene.com proposed building a user login and account system that could:

  • Make service applications easier by removing the need to collect redundant information.
  • Track the users for the various 60th anniversary programs (recipe/cookbook, voting for Nonprofit, win prizes).
  • Track services on a per user basis for signing them up for additional services.
THE SOLUTION:

nickgreene.com created an application that allowed customers to sign in just once and then be recognized by all the other SkyLine sites. It also enabled the SkyLine site to identify which services customers currently have, and offer them specials for those services. And it let customers personalize their profiles.

We built a system that tracks the number of points customers have earned to date towards prize drawings. They could also submit recipes for a commemorative cookbook published by SkyLine. Additionally, customers could vote for their favorite non-profit, and the winning charity would receive a financial donation from SkyLine.

THE RESULT:

SkyLine has been very pleased with the multi-purpose application feature we created. They found it to be very user-friendly for their customers as well as their staff who manage the incoming data. SkyLine was also pleased that we built it with the capability to add new applications to it in the future.
